Space Print from NASA: This aerial view of the Remote Field Demonstration Test Site at NASA's Johnson Space Centre shows a 1.5-acre cratered area which was constructed for testing robotic and rover vehicles -- prototypes for possible use on the moon and Mars. The area is also intended to provide a landscape for human test subjects, wearing prototype spacesuits, to perform various activities. The area has two 30-feet diameter craters and one 60-feet diameter crater, all with a depth of approximately six feet. The rocks scattered around the site are of a basaltic nature.
