2nd British Satellite Ariel.

This shows the satellite, known as UK-2 before launch, being tested at the launch site at Wallops Island, Virginia. Ariel 2 was successfully launched by an American Scout rocket from Wallops Island on 27th March 1964 and returned data for eight months.
