A painting by Eagle Engineering artists working with Eagle and NASA engineers on concepts born from a NASA sponsored project - the Lunar Base Systems Study. The NASA study revealed that oxygen propellant derived from lunar raw materials could play a role in reducing the amount of mass launched into low earth orbit to support a lunar base program. The illustration shows a pilot plant sized to produce 2 mt per month of liquid oxygen. The painting was done for NASA by Eagle Engineering artist Mark Dowman. (NASA Media Archives).
